RAMALLAH, Monday, October 25, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Monday overnight detained 13 Palestinians, including a cancer-stricken patient, from various parts of the West Bank, according to local and security sources.

They said that Israeli forces rounded up a cancer-stricken teacher after breaking into his house in al-Bireh city.

They added that scores of Israeli soldiers stormed al-Am‘ari refugee camp, south of Ramallah, where they rounded up another Palestinian.

In Salfit district, Israeli soldiers detained two 10-year-old minors after ransacking the houses of their families in Az-Zawiya town, west of the city.

In the northern West Bank, the sources confirmed a similar raid in Beita town, south of Nablus, resulting in the detention of three others.

Israeli soldiers also barged their way into Ya‘bad town, southwest of Jenin, where they rounded up two others, including a former prisoner after brutally assaulting him.

During the ensuing confrontations, the soldiers opened fire at local youths who attempted to block their passage, causing dozens to suffocate from tear gas.

In the southern West Bank, gun-toting soldiers detained another after storming his house in Hebron's Daheyat Iskan al-Baladiya (Municipality Housing Suburb).

In Jerusalem, police rounded up three others after breaking into and searching the houses of their families in Silwan.

On Sunday evening, a resident of Jenin refugee camp was detained after being stopped at a checkpoint on Jenin-Nablus Road. The detainee is a student enrolled in Birzeit University.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
