Israeli forces detain ten Palestinians from West Bank

RAMALLAH, Tuesday, October 12, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday overnight detained ten Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, according to local and security sources.

They said that Israeli forces re-arrested a former prisoner after breaking into his family house in Abu Shukheidim village, northwest of Ramallah city.

They also re-arrested another after ransacking his family house in Kobar town, north of the city.

In the northern West Bank, Israeli forces barged their way into Beita town, which has become a scene of weekly protests against decades of Israeli settler-colonialism and apartheid, south of the city of Nablus, and detained another.

They also rounded up a father along with his two sons and seized their vehicle in a raid in Azzun town, east of Qalqiliya city.

In the southern West Bank, the sources confirmed a similar raid in Ash-Shuyukh town, northeast of Hebron, resulting in the detention of two former prisoners.

The soldiers forcefully entered a house in Beit Ummar town, north of the city, and rounded up two brothers.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
