Israel orders Palestinians to stop construction of homes in Salfit

SALFIT, Tuesday, June 15, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities ordered a number of Palestinian residents to stop the construction works on their homes in the town of Burqin to the west of Salfit city, in the central occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Sources told WAFA Israeli forces handed local residents five notices ordering them to stop the construction works on their under-construction homes.

Israel prevents Palestinians living in Area C, which makes up more than 60 percent of the area of the West Bank and which is under full Israeli military control, from building anything on their land, forcing residents to build without obtaining rarely-granted permits to provide shelters for their families.

Israel’s planning and building policy in the West Bank is aimed at preventing Palestinian development and dispossessing Palestinians of their land, said the Israeli information center for human rights in occupied territories, B’Tselem.
