Colonizers Attack Palestinians More Violently Than Ever

WEST BANK, December 7, 2008 (WAFA)- Ongoing violent attacks perpetrated by extremist Jewish colonizers against Palestinians citizens and property has reached an unprecedented level in the West Bank. The escalation of racist aggression targeting Palestinians all across the West Bank, including women, elderly and children has led to this retrospective review last week's events.

 

According to Palestinian Monitor's review, violence in Hebron has reached its climax this week after colonizers were evacuated from Al-Rajbi's family house in the Old City of Hebron, where about 600-800 Jewish colonizers have settled, and additional several thousands live in surrounding colonies.

 

Five Palestinian houses were taken over by hundreds of Jewish colonizers who ended up torching those homes. Colonizers burnt and destroyed seven vehicles that belong to Palestinians, including some fire trucks belonging to Hebron civil defense department.

 

As tensions reached its max, Israel declared the large building occupied by colonizers as a 'closed military zone'. The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) forcefully evicted over 250 right-wing colonizers from the Palestinian houses they took over. Many colonizers belong to an extreme-right group known as 'The Jewish National Front' whose main aim is the expulsion of all Palestinians from what they call 'The Great Land of Israel,' which includes the West Bank and Gaza.

 

Known for its particularly 'hard-core' colonizers, Hebron's colonizer community has insisted that they will not leave voluntarily. 'We will refuse any compromise,' said the new comer David Wilder, 'This expulsion is illegal.'

 

Several Palestinian families remained trapped while colonizers set their houses on fire as Israeli soldiers were watching; furthermore they blocked the Palestinian fire fighters and aid cars from reaching the scene to conduct the rescue operation.

 

The attack has resulted in fifteen Palestinian casualties, five of which by live ammunition. Two Palestinians were reported to be in a critical condition.

 

The eviction, that was ordered three weeks ago by the Israeli High Court, set off a deluge of retaliatory attacks by colonizers against Palestinians. During the attacks, colonizers were reported to have used clubs, stones and dogs trained to attack people.

 

In Karantina Neighborhood of Old Hebron, Israeli soldiers and Jewish colonizers shot teargas canisters and rubber coated metal balls at Palestinian, which led to injuring and suffocating a number of citizens.

 

A Palestinian child and her father were beaten by extremist colonizers, resulting in injuries and heavy bruises.

 

Dozens of colonizers ransacked the Ibn Al Walid Mosque, near the Jewish colony of Kyriat Arba and set the Mosque on fire.

 

On Wednesday, Jewish colonizers accompanied by dogs, threw stones at Palestinian residents. At least, thirteen Palestinians were injured, including a Palestinian photographer. Four Palestinians were wounded by dogs, resulting in bruises and bites on their bodies.

 

Palestinian cars and houses belonging to two families from Hebron were set on fire by colonizers.

 

On Friday night, four Palestinians were injured in a colonizer attack, near the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron.

 

In the meantime in Jerusalem, a group of young extremist colonizers attacked a thirty year-old Palestinian, in Jerusalem. Eye-witnesses testified that the young man was stabbed and left seriously injured.

 

In the Palestinian city of Nablus, north of the West Bank, dozens of colonizers blocked the access to the main street of the Hawara village. In Jericho, similar events have been reported.

 

In Barin village, neighboring the Israeli Yitzhar colony, dozens of colonizers damaged Palestinian houses, attacking them with stones. Positioned on the hilltops overlooking the Palestinian village, colonizers threw stones at Palestinians and their vehicles, resulting in damage to dozens of cars.

 

In the Palestinian towns of Bita, Yatima and Assawya, colonizers destroyed twenty Palestinian cars and vandalized Mosques by writing racist slogans on the walls.

 

Jewish colonizers destroyed eighty small olive trees only recently planted by a Palestinian farmer near Tulkarem north of the West Bank on Friday. They came from the illegal Israeli colony of Avne Hefez which is built on the lands of the Palestinian village of Shufa. Member of land defense committee in Tulkarem Tahsin Hamid, reported the destruction of a district water pipe, preventing municipal water from reaching some remote villages.

 

Five villages from the Qalqilia district were covered by racist slogans written on mosque's walls calling for the mass killing of all Palestinians.

 

\In Ramallah, colonizers uprooted 56 olive trees belonging to Palestinian families in Ras Karkar village.

 

In the villages of Sinjil and Turmus'aya, colonizers ransacked villages, tagging walls with racist slogans.

 

In the town of Al- Nabi Saleh, Jewish colonizers from the neighbouring Halmish colony gathered in the main street, preventing any Palestinian vehicles from entering the village.
