TEL AVIV, December 7, 2008 (WAFA)- The Israeli Ministerial Committee approved, Sunday, the release of 230 Palestinian prisoners, out of a list of 250 Palestinians to be released on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.

The Israeli Ministerial Committee rejected 20 names included in the initial list; those prisoners were to be released into the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Minister of Interior Security objected the release of 19 prisoners from the Gaza Strip.

Ehud Olmert, the Israeli Acting Prime Minister, had told President Mahmoud Abbas that the Israeli Government intended to release 250 Palestinian prisoners on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
