RAMALLAH, December 1, 2008 (WAFA)- The Palestinian National Authority signed, Monday, a project agreement with the German Federal Republic worth €17.2 million, and adjusted two other agreements by adding €10 million, and €850 thousand to the agreements, separately.
The German Federal Republic provided €15.8 million to the project while local contributions reached €1.4 million. Two previous agreements were modified; €10 million were added to the budget of the project aimed at establishing a water sanitation station in west of Nablus, the other was provided with an additional €850 thousand to rehabilitate Jenin’s water purifying station.
The agreement was signed, on the Palestinian side, by Sameer Abdullah, Minister of Planning and Shaddad Atili, Chairman of the Palestinian Water Authority. On the German side, it was signed by Anja Bentlage, the economic responsible for the water sanitation sector in the German Development Bank.
