Russian Official: No International Conference Unless Constructive Steps Achieved
MOSCOW, January 7, 2008 (WAFA)-Russia said that it would not host an international conference on the Middle East unless constructive steps achieved in the region.
Russian official, Mikhaïl Kaminine said to Russian Festy news channel that Russia wants to realize that there is a progress in the peace process before start preparation for convening an international conference on the Middle East.
Kaminine affirmed that the opportunity of holding a conference is still running and is related to positive developments in the region.
He considered that the situation in the Middle East witnesses no practical steps to normalize the situation or achieve stability, affirming that Russia wants the conference to help seriously pushing the peace process forward.
