UAE Says Mecca Accord Helped Revive Arab Peace Initiative
RIYADH, March 27, 2007, (WAFA) - President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nuhayyan, said Tuesday that success of the Mecca agreement had contributed positively to reviving the Arab peace initiative.
Sheikh Khalifa, in a statement after his arrival to Riyadh to lead his country's delegation to the 19th Arab summit, hoped the high-level meeting would succeed in pushing forward the peace process to end the Arab-Israeli conflict.
He commended King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia in supporting inter-Arab solidarity and the resolution of conflicts between Arabs in order for the summit to have fruitful outcome serving interests of all Arabs.
Sheikh Khalifa said the Arab world was in dire need for credible action to achieve a genuine Arab action that would overcome all challenges.
