Weather forecast: Relatively cold to cold conditions, scattered rain

 

RAMALLAH, Sunday, May 24, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is partially cloudy and relatively cold to cold, particularly in mountainous districts, with a significant drop in temperature which approaches around 5°C below the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Scattered light rainfall along with occasional thunderstorms are expected on various districts, especially the northern and central districts, with the chance of rain diminishing towards the night. Moderate to active northwesterly wind blow with occasional gusts in daytime. Sea waves are medium to high.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 20°C and a low of 12°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 19°C and a low of 11°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 18°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 26°C and a low of 17°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Monday’s temperature is set to slightly rise, yet remains unseasonably low, with partially cloudy and relatively cold conditions, particularly in the early morning and night hours.

Tuesday’s temperature is set to significantly rise and approach 3°C above the seasonal average, with mainly clear and relatively hot to hot conditions in daytime and mild conditions in nighttime.

Wednesday’s temperature is expected to drop and become seasonal with partly cloudy to clear and mild conditions in mountainous districts and relatively hot conditions in other districts in daytime. Mild conditions are expected in nighttime.

PMD warns people against sharp drop in temperature, especially in nighttime, and low horizontal visibility.
