RAMALLAH, March 30, 2026 (WAFA) – Hussein Al-Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine, strongly condemned the approval by the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, of a law imposing the death penalty on Palestinian prisoners.
Al-Sheikh described the legislation as a dangerous escalation, a blatant challenge to international humanitarian law and international legitimacy, and a racist measure.
He also called on the international community to take action to protect Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons from the policies of the extremist Israeli government.
