RAMALLAH, March 31, 2026 (WAFA) – Tunisia commemorated the 50th anniversary of Land Day, affirming that this occasion represents an enduring national symbol and a milestone in the struggle from which the Palestinian people draw inspiration for steadfastness in their ongoing fight to defend their land and holy sites.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad expressed deep concern regarding the continued violations by the occupying authorities, particularly in the Gaza Strip. These violations include breaches of the ceasefire agreement, the closure of crossings, the prevention of humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, and restrictions on the movement of residents, all of which have exacerbated the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip.
The Ministry noted that this commemoration coincides with the escalation of annexation policies by the occupying authorities in the West Bank and the adoption of plans to register Palestinian lands in the name of the occupying authorities. This aims to expand settlements and impose a new reality on the ground, in flagrant violation of international laws and conventions.
Tunisia affirmed its profound respect for Palestinian resilience in the face of what it described as the arrogance of the occupation, despite the silence of the international community. It commended the Palestinian people's continued struggle to regain their legitimate rights.
It reaffirmed its unconditional support for the Palestinian people, and its firm stance in supporting their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on all of the land of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.
