RAMALLAH, March 31, 2026 (WAFA) – The Fatah movement in the northern West Bank has announced a comprehensive general strike for Wednesday, April 1, in protest against the Israeli Knesset's approval of a law authorizing the execution of Palestinian prisoners.
In a statement, Fatah in the northern West Bank expressed its "strong condemnation and rejection of the occupation government's approval of the so-called 'death penalty law,' which directly targets Palestinian prisoners and constitutes a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian laws and conventions."
The movement affirmed that the legislation would not break the will of the Palestinian people or their prisoners, but rather will strengthen their determination to continue the struggle for their freedom and legitimate rights.
Fatah called for a broad Palestinian mobilization, as well as intensified Arab and international efforts to pressure for the repeal of this law and to hold the occupation accountable for its ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people.
