Israeli forces and colonists forcibly expel Bedouin community near Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, March 31, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces, accompanied by colonist, on Tuesday stormed the Bedouin community of Khirbet al-Sidra near the village of Mikhmas, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli troops informed residents that the area had been declared a "closed military zone" and completely prohibited their presence, in an escalation aimed at emptying the community of its inhabitants.

Israeli army forcibly evicted 16 Bedouin families who had lived in the community for approximately 25 years, in flagrant violation of their right to housing and stability.

In recent weeks, Israeli forces had blocked the roads leading to the community using concrete blocks, completely preventing access, in an attempt to impose a new reality on the ground and restrict the movement of residents. The measures reflect an ongoing policy of harassment and forced displacement against the community's residents.
