Fatah: Israeli law allowing execution of Palestinian prisoners legalizes killing policies

RAMALLAH, March 30, 2026 (WAFA) – The Fatah movement said that the approval by the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, of a law allowing the execution of Palestinian prisoners constitutes legislation for policies of killing and represents a blatant violation of international law.

In a statement issued Monday by its Commission of Information, Culture and Intellectual Mobilization, Fatah said the law violates the Fourth Geneva Convention and other relevant international treaties and conventions.

The movement stated that the law, with racist and fascist provisions, effectively legalizes practices that Palestinian prisoners have long faced in Israeli prisons, including killing, medical neglect, torture, and abuse.

Fatah added that the bill, introduced by a far-right Israeli minister whom it said has been widely described internationally as “fascist,” reflects the occupation system’s efforts to implement genocidal plans against the Palestinian people.

According to the movement, the legislation specifically targeting Palestinian prisoners represents the peak of racism, criminality, and terrorism within the Israeli political system and among its officials.

Fatah also said the law demonstrates the intentions of Israeli authorities to further inflame the situation through continued violations of international law, calling for decisive international action to deter a colonial system led by extremist settlers.
