RAMALLAH, Thursday, May 21, 2020 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained early today 27 Palestinians and injured others in multiple raids across the occupied West Bank, said the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).

In Hebron district, PPS said that Israeli forces rounded up five Palestinians, including three teens, after storming their families’ homes in Beit Ummar town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

Soldiers detained three others in separate raids in Dura and Beit Kahel towns, southwest and north of Hebron, respectively.

In Bethlehem district, PPS said that Israeli forces re-arrested a former prisoner after storming his parents’ house in Bethlehem city, and another person in al-Shwawreh village, east of Bethlehem.

In Ramallah district, PPS confirmed that Israeli forces detained five undergraduate students enrolled in Birzeit University from several Ramallah-district towns and villages.

It elaborated that Israeli forces raided Beit Rima village, northwest of Ramallah, resulting in the detention of two Palestinians, an undergraduate student and 62-year-old man. The elderly man was released several hours later.

During ensuing confrontations, Israeli troops opened fire towards local youths injuring one with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the neck.
