Israeli settlers install new caravans in Jordan Valley settlement

TUBAS, January 30, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers installed new caravans, one of which to be used as a school, in the illegal settlement of Brosh Habik’at in the northern Jordan Valley, in the occupied West Bank, according to a local activist.

Muataz Besharat, who monitors settlement activities in the area, told WAFA illegal settlers installed new housing units in the settlement. One of the caravans will be used as a school for about 30 settler students, Besharat added.

More than 600,000 Israelis live in settlements in the West Bank, including the Jordan Valley, that are seen as a major obstacle to achieving peace between Palestinians and Israelis. Israel‘s settlements are illegal under international law.
