GDP down by 1.6% in West Bank and 3.5% in Gaza Strip during the 2nd quarter 2019

 

RAMALLAH, Monday, September 30, 2019 (WAFA) - Preliminary estimates of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant prices showed a decrease of 2% in Palestine during the 2nd quarter 2019 compared to the 1st quarter of the same year, a decrease by 1.6% in West Bank and 3.5% in Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said today.

On the other hand, it showed an increase of 2.5% in GDP in Palestine during the 2nd quarter 2019 compared to the 2nd quarter 2018.

GDP for the 2nd quarter 2019 at constant prices was $2,754 million for the West Bank and $681 million for Gaza Strip.

GDP per capita for Palestine at constant prices was $736 during the 2nd quarter 2019, a decrease of 2.6% compared to the 1st quarter 2019.

As for the West Bank, it was $1,025 at constant prices during the 2nd quarter 2019, a decrease by 2.2% compared to the 1st quarter 2019, while for Gaza Strip it was $343 during the 2nd quarter 2019, a decrease by 4.2% compared to the 1st quarter 2019.
