ILLINOIS, June 18, 2025 (WAFA) - Jewish activists in Chicago, Illinois, have begun an open-ended hunger strike to protest the ongoing Israeli occupation massacres in the Gaza Strip.
WAFA correspondent said that the strike, led by leaders of the Jewish Voice for Peace organization, including academics, also aims to pressure for an end to US military funding to Israel and an end to the food and medicine blockade that has led to a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
He pointed out that the activists affirmed their support for the passage of a law aimed at halting arms exports to Israel.
He pointed out that this strike coincides with a mass event organized in Chicago demanding an end to arms supplies to Israel and relief for our people in the Gaza Strip.
The event included university students and Congresswoman Dalia Ramirez, one of the members of Congress who introduced the "Stop Arms Exports to Israel" bill.
