Israeli forces take over house near Ramallah, turn it into military outpost

RAMALLAH, June 17, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday took over a Palestinian’s house at the northern entrance of Birzeit, north of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to security sources.

They said that the occupying forces broke into a Palestinian’s house on the road connecting Birzeit to the nearby town of Atara, and turned it into a military observation and a firing position.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces stormed al-Mughayyir village and Silwan town, northeast and east of Ramallah, respectively, where they have already occupied two houses and turned them into military outposts.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted without the need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
