Israeli army hands over bodies of two slain Palestinians

JENIN, Friday, February 1, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Friday evening handed over the bodies of two slain Palestinians from Jerusalem and Hebron in the occupied West Bank and who were killed by the forces in October and December 2018.

Israeli military handed over the body of Muammar Arif al-Atrash, 42 years old from Hebron, who was shot dead by the occupation forces on October 22, 2018 in the Old City of Hebron. His body has been withheld by the forces since then.

Army also handed over the body of slain Majd Mteir, 26, from Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem, who was shot dead by the army in December 13, 2018.

Israeli authorities have escalated the policy of withholding Palestinian bodies killed by Israeli forces, claiming that funerals of Palestinians had provided grounds for “incitement” against Israel.

Dozens of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces are still withheld in Israeli mortuaries despite calls by human rights groups on Israel to release them.
