Occupation issues military order to bulldoze, uproot trees near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, June 11, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities issued a decision to uproot more trees in the lands of the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces decided to bulldoze and uproot trees from 9.5 dunams of citizens' land in the town of Sinjil to build the barbed wire fence.

According to the Sinjil Municipality, the occupation has transformed half of Sinjil's lands into military zones and colonial outposts, and surrounded the town with a barbed wire wall, inflicting heavy losses on farmers due to the targeting of the hill plain occupied by the colonists. They also stole the farmers' wheat crops.

The town of Sinjil is subject to repeated raids and attacks by colonists on citizens and their property, under the protection of the occupation army, which storms the town in advance to secure the colonists' incursions, especially in the "hill" area, which separates the villages of Sinjil and the adjacent eastern farm.

Last year, the Israeli occupation forces notified the residents of the town of their intention to seize 30 dunams of land and began constructing a barbed-wire fence along Route 60. The fence, which stretches over one kilometer and stands four meters high, is set to isolate the town of Sinjil from the main road. This barrier will deprive residents of access to their lands located behind it, which amount to more than 8,000 dunams.
