MADRID, May 29, 2018 (WAFA) - The municipality of Pamplona called on the Spanish government to severe its diplomatic relations with Israel until it ends its repressive policies against the Palestinian people.

Following its latest board meeting, the municipality of Pamplona affirmed its support for Palestinians’ right to return and the peaceful popular movement, which is forcibly suppressed by the Israeli army.

The municipality condemned Israeli army’s killing of at least 100 Palestinians, along with thousands of injuries during the ‘Great March of Return’ non-violent protests, and offered its support and condolences to the families of the victims.

It stressed the need for its government and the European Union (EU) to exert pressure and impose the necessary sanctions on Israel to force it to promptly end its aggression against the Palestinian people.

The municipality slammed moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem and described it as ‘extremely dangerous’ and contrary to international law.”

It stressed the illegality of such move, which undermines efforts exerted to achieve peace in the region.
