ALGERIA, August 9, 2025 (WAFA) - Algeria on Saturday expressed its strong condemnation and outright rejection of the Israeli plans to reoccupy the Gaza Strip, which jeopardize the future of the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian state and peace across the entire region, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
“A few days after the convening of the international conference on the two-state solution — which renewed the international community’s affirmation of this solution as the only framework capable of establishing a just, lasting, and final settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict — the occupying power once again demonstrates its disregard for the will and resolutions of the international community, as it plans to militarily reoccupy the Gaza Strip and forcibly and violently displace its population,” the statement read.
Moreover, Algeria emphasized that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory and an essential component inseparable from the Palestinian state recognized by international legitimacy and demanded by the international community.
From this perspective, Algeria called upon the international community, and especially the United Nations Security Council, to fulfill their responsibilities and put an end to these Israeli schemes and stop the genocidal war being waged against the Palestinian people for nearly two years.
“While Algeria emphasizes the necessity of accelerating the urgent priorities imposed by the current situation, especially the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, it stresses that the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital represents a historic entitlement that is inalienable, timeless, and cannot be compromised,” the statement concluded.
