Arab League to hold extraordinary session tomorrow to discuss ways to confront ongoing Israeli occupation crimes

CAIRO, August 9, 2025 (WAFA) – The Arab League will hold an extraordinary session tomorrow to discuss ways to confront the ongoing crimes of the Israeli occupation.

Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the Arab League, Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk, announced that the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives will convene an extraordinary session on Sunday, at the request of the State of Palestine and with the support of Member States.

The session will address mechanisms of action at the Arab and international levels to confront Israeli crimes, prevent their continuation, and hold perpetrators accountable before international justice.

Al-Aklouk told WAFA that the meeting will be held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in light of the Israeli decision to re-occupy the Gaza Strip and fully control it, and the resulting forced displacement of the Palestinian people inside and outside the Strip.

The session will also focus on putting an end to the humanitarian disaster devastating the lives of citizens in Gaza through the commission of further brutal massacres as part of the crime of genocide and starvation, and in light of the ongoing destruction of refugee camps, expansion of colonial settlements, demolition of homes and infrastructure, the terror of colonists in the occupied West Bank, and the escalation of raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque.
