MOSCOW, August 10, 2025 (WAFA) – The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli decision to reoccupy the Gaza Strip and warned of its repercussions.
The Ministry explained in a statement that implementing such decisions and plans, which are condemned and rejected, would exacerbate the already dramatic situation on the Palestinian side, which has all the hallmarks of a humanitarian catastrophe.
This would significantly exacerbate international efforts to de-escalate the conflict zone, with potentially negative and dangerous consequences for the entire Middle East region.
Russia affirmed its firm position on the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of all hostages and detainees, and the restoration of unhindered humanitarian access.
It stressed that Moscow is firmly convinced that there is no alternative to settling the Palestinian issue on the basis of the recognized rules of international law, at the core of which is the principle of a two-state solution, which stipulates the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, coexisting in peace and security alongside Israel.
