SANTIAGO, February 9, 2017 (WAFA) - The Chilean government Thursday expressed “deep dissatisfaction” with the passing of the so-called “Regularization Law” in the Israeli parliament, which allows for the expropriation of Palestinian private property in the West Bank and would facilitate the legalization of dozens of outposts and settlements built illegally in Palestinian territory.
“Chile joins the international community‘s rejection of the expansion of these settlements, which represents a serious obstacle to achieving a lasting peace based on the two-state-solution of two states that live together in peace and security with internationally recognized borders,” said the Chilean government statement.
“This position was reaffirmed by Chile at the recent Paris Peace Conference in the Middle East, where 70 countries participated, as well as 4 international organizations,” it said.
