RAMALLAH, October 3, 2016 (WAFA) – The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that municipal elections could take place in the West Bank only with the exclusion of the Gaza Strip.
It said a new date for the elections should be set within one month.
Municipal elections were supposed to take place in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip on October 8. However, the Supreme Court suspended them on September 10, citing the exclusion of Jerusalem from the electoral process and concerns about courts in the Gaza Strip.
