Italian Parliament condemns Israeli genocidal war on Gaza

ROME, May 20, 2025 (WAFA) – The Italian Parliament on Tuesday condemned the ongoing Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

During a session of the Chamber of Deputies, Italian opposition parties condemned Israel's genocidal war, which resulted in the killing of 53,573 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 121,688 others, and called for Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to appear before Parliament.

Members of the Democratic Party, the Five Star Movement, and the Left-Green Alliance participated in the protests and debates. Democratic Party MP Laura Boldrini announced that a vote on a joint opposition motion regarding the situation in Gaza would take place tomorrow, Wednesday, urging Meloni to address the assembly.

Meanwhile, Left-Green Alliance MP Marco Grimaldi stated that what was happening in Gaza was a genocide and called for the suspension of all official activities with Israel.
