Israeli Military Truck Runs over Teen, Seriously Injures Him near Jenin
JENIN, February 4, 2016 (WAFA) – A Palestinian teenager was on Thursday run over and seriously injured by an Israeli armored truck, during a crackdown in the town of Qabatia, south of Jenin, according to medical sources.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said Mohammad Abbas Zakarneh, 16, was seriously injured in his head after an Israeli military truck ran over him. He was transferred to nearby al-Razi hospital for medical treatment, where his case was described as critical.
Since last night, large-scale Israeli troops accompanied by heavy machinery have blocked all roads leading to Qabatia, and have since denied the entry and exit of local Palestinians in and out of the town.
Troops also closed with earth mounds the entrances leading to the town, and set up makeshift tents there.
Army then raided the homes of the three teenagers, who had reportedly killed one Israeli police officer and injured three others in a gunfire and stabbing attack in Jerusalem yesterday, and interrogated the families of the three teens for long hours last night.
Army also performed some measurements in the homes prior to demolishing them, as a collective punishment against their families.
The Israeli incursion in the town provoked clashes with local teenagers, who pelted stones and Molotov cocktails towards the army’s vehicles. Army used teargas canisters to disperse them, causing several cases of suffocation.
