HEBRON, January 9, 2016 (WAFA) – Several Palestinians Saturday afternoon were shot and injured and dozens others suffocated during clashes that broke out at Beit ‘Einun junction, east of Hebron in the southern West Bank, following the funeral procession of four Palestinians who were killed after alleged attacks against Israeli soldiers on Thursday.
WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli forces fired rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters at Palestinians who rallied at Beit ‘Einun junction following the funeral procession of four Palestinians, who were shot dead by Israeli forces on Thursday.
Several demonstrators were shot and injured and dozens others suffocated from excessive tear gas inhalation. They were all treated at the scene by Red Crescent paramedics.
The rally came following the joint funeral procession of four Palestinians who were killed by Israeli forces the night before following alleged stabbing attempts.
The bodies of the four Palestinians, who came from the Hebron town of Sa‘ir, were released Friday by Israeli authorities.
Ahmad, 19, ‘Alaa, 19, and Muhannad Kawazba, 18, were shot dead, after they purportedly attempted to stab Israeli soldiers at Gush Etzion junction.
Shortly afterwards, Khalil al-Shalaldah, 16, from Sa‘ir, was also killed by Israeli forces after he allegedly attempted to stab an Israeli soldier at Beit ‘Einun junction.
No Israelis were injured in either alleged stabbing attempts.
