RAMALLAH, January 7, 2016 (WAFA) – Weather on Thursday is partly cloudy with a further slight rise in temperatures, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department.
Winds are southwesterly and light to moderate. Sea waves are medium to high during the day, but turn to be active and windy at night, reaching about 70 km/hr at times.
However on Friday, a low pressure accompanied by a cold front is expected to affect the east Mediterranean countries. Therefore, temperatures are expected to significantly drop, and rains, accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected in almost all areas of the West Bank and Gaza. Sporadic hail might fall in some areas.
The weather department warned about possible flooding in low areas and valleys, very active winds, and about low visibility in some areas.
The region remains under the effect of the cold front on Sunday, with a high chance of rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms in many areas.
Temperatures, nevertheless, are expected to rise on Sunday, with almost partly cloudy skies expected to prevail throughout the day.
