RAMALLAH, June 14, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers Sunday murdered a 21-year-old Palestinian from the town of Kafr Malik east of Ramallah after shooting him with live bullets and fatally smashing him when their military vehicle flipped over, according to the Governor of Ramallah and el-Bireh Laila Ghanam.
She said that the military jeep that chased after Ghanaim flipped over him, fatally killing him. The head of the town’s council Majed Ma’adi said the coroner in the Ramallah governmental hospital affirmed that Ghanaim has been also shot with a live bullet in his left side.
Meanwhile Israeli sources said the army has denied shooting Ghanaim, saying that he was only crushed under the military vehicle when it overturned while chasing after Palestinians who were hurling stones at the army.
Local security sources told WAFA that Abdullah Ghanaim is a released prisoner and has only been free for few months. He works in a Poultry farm.
According to witnesses, Israeli forces raided the town before dawn and provoked the youth into engaging in clashes. Israeli soldiers also shot Jum’a Saleh with a rubber bullet and a gas canister in his neck. His medical condition was described as moderate.
The Israeli military withdrew after the town’s residents grew furious and gathered in the streets. The body was then moved to Ramallah’s hospital.
The Detainees and ex-Detainees Committee and the Prisoner's Club condemned the cold-blooded murder of Ghanaim, affirming that Israel continuously targets released prisoners and their families.
The committee said that Ghanaim was a released prisoner who was detained in September 12, 2012 and was released in August 3, 2014.
