BETHLEHEM,
May 18, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli army and police on Monday arrested eight
Palestinians, including four teenagers and a mother, during separate raids in
Bethlehem and Jerusalem, according to local sources.
The
army stormed the village of al-Khader, south of Bethlehem, in the predawn hours
and arrested four Palestinian teenagers, who were identified as brothers
Dawoud, 17, and Omar Salah, 15, Mohammad Asaad Sbeih, 17, and Jihad Sbeih, 17.
Army forces raided their homes and searched them before they were arrested.
The
force also summoned three local residents, including the father of the
above-mentioned two brothers, for
interrogation at the nearby Gush Etzion settlement bloc.
Meanwhile
in Jerusalem, Israeli police stormed the neighborhood of Silwan in the city and
arrested female Asmaa Shuyukhi, and her two sons Mosab, 25, and Mansour, 23.
Shuyukhi and her two sons were led to a nearby detention facility in the city.
According
to the Palestinian Prisoners Centre for Studies (PPCS), the Israeli forces have
arrested 78 Palestinian women in the first quarter of 2015, including several
minors.
It
said that the year 2015 has seen a clear escalation in the detention of
Palestinian women, including minors. 'Most of [the women] were arrested inside
the Sanctuary of Al-Aqsa Mosque,' the NGO said.
Meanwhile,
forces arrested 22-year-old Maysa Mahajneh, a mother of three and a resident of
Jenin, while she was visiting her brother Farid, who is detained is the Israeli
jail of Megido.
In
the meantime, an Israeli army force broke into the town of Ya’bad, west of
Jenin, at midnight, provoking confrontations with local residents. Soldiers
fired teargas canisters during the clashes, causing many cases of suffocation
due to tear gas inhalation.
