JERUSALEM, May 12, 2015 (WAFA) –
Israeli forces detained early Tuesday three Palestinians from the West Bank and
Jerusalem, including a minor, and summoned five others to appear before the
Israeli intelligence for interrogation, said security sources.
Israeli police detained a
Palestinian minor from the vicinity of Bab al-Sahira, also known as Herod’s
Gate, one of the seven gates leading to the Old City of Jerusalem.
WAFA correspondent reported that
Yousef al-Hazina, 14, was detained and taken to the Israeli police detention
center in Salah- Ad-Din Street.
In Jenin district, Israeli forces
stormed al-Yamoun town west of the city, where they proceeded to summon three
Palestinians after breaking into, ransacking their houses and interrogating
members of their families.
Fadi Abu Saifain, 30, Hani Abu
al-Hasan, 23, and Basel Abu al-Hayja, 22, were handed notices summoning them to
appear before Israeli intelligence.
Meanwhile, forces ordered the
father of 20-year-old Wafa Qabaha to hand over his son for intelligence
interrogation at Salem army camp to the north of Jenin, under the pretext of
being ‘wanted’. The forces threatened the father to punish him if he does not
hand him over.
Meanwhile in Bethlehem, forces
arrested a resident of Bethlehem identified as Habib Mousa, 30, after appearing
at the Israeli intelligence at Gush Etzion settlement bloc.
Forces further raided and
searched two homes in the village of Husan to the west of Bethlehem, before
handing two Palestinians notices ordering them to appear for interrogation at
the above-mentioned settlement bloc. They were identified as 20-year-old Diyya,
and Mohammed Zghool, 30.
Forces also raided and searched
several homes in the town of Taqou to the east of Bethlehem. No arrests were
made.
In Hebron district, forces
detained Kifah ‘Ali Abu ‘Ayyash after breaking into his house in Beit Ummar
town to the north of the city.
Abu ‘Ayyash was detained as
forces conducted military drills in Wadi al-Joz and Farsh al-Hawa localities in
Hebron.
Forces have recently conducted
military drills in the Nablus village of Khirbet al-Tawil amidst Palestinian
wheat crops as well as in the northern Jordan Valley.
In preparation for such drills,
forces frequently prevent Palestinian farmers' access to their lands by placing
checkpoints, barriers and declaring areas as military training zones.
Such military drills constitute a
part of Israel’s policy to forcibly displace Palestinian and dispossess them.
