RAMALLAH, May 7, 2015 (WAFA) – Presidential Spokesperson Nabil Abu
Rudeineh stated Thursday, following the formation of new Israeli coalition
government, that the latter has to accept the two-state solution, among other demands, to overcome the current impasse in the peace process.
To overcome the current impasse in the peace process, Abu Rudeineh
stressed that Israel must meet a number of Palestinian demands; including accepting
the two-state solution, and halting settlement construction throughout the
Palestinian territories as well as the policy of aggression, violations and
arbitrary measures against the Palestinian people.
He added that in the wake of the formation of the new right-wing
Israeli coalition government, the State of Palestine would pursue its
international actions to accede to UN organizations and treaties in order to
safeguard the Palestinian people’s rights.
The top Palestinian official said in conclusion that the Palestinian
leadership is awaiting for the conclusion of Palestinian and Arab consultations
in order to submit a UN Security Council draft resolution setting a deadline
for ending the Israeli occupation.
He stressed that the Palestinian leadership would further continue
to prepare and submit to the International Criminal Court (ICC) all files and
cases [documenting Israeli crimes committed against Palestinians].
Abu Rudeineh’s remarks came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu managed to hammer together a coalition government just ahead of a
midnight deadline.
