RAMALLAH,
May 5, 2015 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their
Tuesday issue on a report issued by Breaking the Silence, an organization of
veteran Israeli soldiers, which included testimonies of 60 Israeli soldiers who
admitted to have committed war crimes during the aggression on Gaza last
summer.
In their
testimonies, the soldiers said that during the war on Gaza in the summer of
2014, they opened live and artillery fire indiscriminately and aimlessly at
civilians, reported Breaking the Silence.
The three
dailies, al-Quds, Al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Ayyam, also quoted senior officials
in the Israeli Ministry of Defense, who said that issuing construction permits
to Palestinian residents living in Area C in the West Bank, under full Israeli
jurisdiction, are subject to political considerations.
The
dailies said the Supreme Court of Israel (SCI) approved a proposal by the
Israeli government to demolish the ancient village of Susia, south of Hebron,
and relocate its residents to nearby Yatta.
Al-Quds
said the SCI is due on Tuesday to decide on withdrawing the Israeli nationality
from the Jerusalem District members of the Palestinian Legislative Council.
Al-Ayyam
and al-Hayat al-Jadida said Israel’s far-right Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman
announced on Monday he would not be part of the next Israeli government.
