JENIN, May 5, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli
forces detained early Tuesday 21 Palestinians from multiple West Bank
districts, said security sources.
Israeli forces detained two
Palestinians from Jenin district and two others from Hebron and Bethlehem
districts.
Israeli forces stormed the Jenin
neighborhood of al-Almaniya, where they proceeded to detain a Palestinian. He
was identified as Majd ‘Arouk, 23.
They also stormed Jenin refugee camp,
where they detained a Palestinian after breaking into and ransacking his house
among other houses. The detainee was identified as Ayman al-Rakh, 35.
During the raid, forces further broke
into a sewing workshop belonging to the family of Hisham al-Rukh; who had lost
one of their family members after he was shot dead by forces, tampering with
its contents and seizing its surveillance cameras.
They also broke into several houses
belonging to Amjad ‘Arqawi as well as the families of Fida’, Yousef, Muhammad
and Ahmad Abu Qandil, detonating their main door, forcing members of their
families into one room and interrogating them.
It is worth noting that Fida had been
shot dead by forces and Yousef is already detained in an Israeli detention
center.
Meanwhile in Hebron, forces detained a
Palestinian after breaking and wreaking havoc into his house in Karma village
in Dura town to the south of the city. The detainee was identified as Ashraf
Abu Sheikha.
Meanwhile, Israeli settlers from the
nearby settlement of ‘Kiryat Araba‘’ attacked a Palestinian house in Wadi
al-Hasin, the Hasin valley, to the east of the city, hurling stones and empty
glass bottles at it and attempted to break into it before local residents
finally fended off the assault. The owner of the house was identified as Kayed
Da‘na.
Forces stormed several other Hebron
neighborhoods as well as Idhna and Yatta towns and set up checkpoints at the
northern entrance of the city as well as the entrances of both Halhul and Sa‘ir
towns, where they stopped and inspected passing Palestinian registered vehicles
and examined passengers’ identity cards, causing traffic jams.
Meanwhile in Bethlehem district,
soldiers stationed at the inspection point of al-Karamah crossing with Jordan
Jordan, also known as Allenby Bridge, detained a Palestinian while travelling
from Jordan back to his hometown of Taqou‘ to the east of Bethlehem. The
detainee was identified as Salim Sabbah, 63, who was transferred to the Israeli
detention center of Ofer near Ramallah.
Forces also broke into a house
belonging to Muhammad Yaghmour in Beit Jala city. Nobody was reportedly
detained during the raid.
They also stormed Husan village to the
west of the city, where they detained a Palestinian minor for an hour. The
minor was identified as ‘Ali Hamamra, 6.
Meanwhile, israeli forces detained 12
Palestinians from Ramallah, five others from Nablus, two others from Jenin
district and two others from Hebron and Bethlehem districts.
Israeli forces stormed Birzeit town to
the north of Ramallah, where they proceeded to detain 12 Palestinians,
including at least nine undergraduate students enrolled in Birzeit University. The
detainees were identified as Bilal Yalo, ‘Abdul-Rahman and Muhammad N.
Al-Sheikh, Muhammad Ghanem, Khalil Salman, Fadi Washaha, Ahmad Mhanna, Basel
Jamil, Amjad Samhan, as well as three others who were not identified.
Meanwhile in Nablus, forces raided Bita
village to the south of the city, where they detained two Palestinians after
breaking into their houses. The detainees were identified as ‘Odeh and Khaldon
Hamayel.
They also broke into ‘Aqraba town to
the southeast of the city, where they detained Ahmad Yousef after breaking into
his house.
They also detained another Palestinian
from the city of Nablus. He was identified as Muhammad Turkman.
Meanwhile, another Palestinian, whose
identity was not identified, from Qabalan town to the south of the city was
also arrested.
