RAMALLAH,
May 3, 2015 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their Sunday
issue on the Israeli army suppression of a peaceful demonstration near Bethlehem,
which was organized by journalists on the occasion of the World Press Freedom
Day.
Al-Hayat
al-Jadida said Chairman of the Journalists’ Union, Abdel Nasser Najjar, was
injured after a stun grenade, shot by Israeli soldiers, hit his leg during the
demonstration, whereas several reporters suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.
Al-Quds
said the International Committee of Wise Men called for reviving peace
negotiations based on a two-state solution.
Al-Ayyam
quoted the Committee’s chairman and Former U.S. president, Jimmy Carter, as
saying that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was behind the failure of
US Secretary of State John Kerry’s initiative for peace in the Middle East.

approved a bill authorizing research and development of an anti-tunneling
defense system to protect Israel against tunnel attacks along the border with
Gaza.

barrels containing chlorine gas on a civilian area in Idlib province to the
