RAMALLAHA, April 29, 2015 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic
dailies focused on Wednesday on the Israeli army killing of a Palestinian youth
in the village of al-Araka, west of Jenin.
They said that 22-year-old Mohammad Yahya died of his wounds a
few hours after he was shot with live bullets by Israeli soldiers near his
village. Al-Quds added that the President’s Office held the Israeli government
responsible for this crime.
On a different subject, the dailies said the cabinet rejected
newly-imposed taxex on imports by the de facto Hamas authorities in Gaza.
The dailies said thousands of Arab activists took to the streets
in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, in protest of the Israeli authorities’ practice of
demolishing Arab and Bedouin-owned homes in the Naqab province.
Al-Ayyam quoted the Israeli Walla website as saying that Turkey
has proposed a five-year ceasefire in Gaza in return for allowing Palestinians
to build a seaport.
It said the Israeli Security Agency Shin Bet recommended to
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to agree on a prisoner swap deal with
Hamas, since otherwise it could lead to an outbreak of violence in Gaza and
Israel.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said the Israeli authorities referred two
soldiers, who appeared on a video footage attacking journalists near Ramallah,
to a disciplinary committee.
