Construction Cost Index Down in March 2015, says Statistics Bureau

RAMALLAH, April 26, 2015 (WAFA) - The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential buildings reached 100.54 with a decrease of 0.24% in the West Bank during March 2015 compared to February 2015, said a report issued by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) on Sunday.

It said that, CCI fell due to the decrease in the prices of raw materials, rental of equipments, and Labor wages by 0.34%, 0.27%, 0.07%, respectively, during March 2015 compared to the previous month.

Meanwhile, CCI for Non-residential buildings reached 100.65 with a decrease of 0.20% in the West Bank during March 2015 compared to the previous month.

It fell due to the decrease in the prices of rental of equipments, raw materials,  and Labor wages by 0.22%, 0.27%, 0.07%, respectively, during the same aforementioned period.

As for CCI for Skeleton buildings, it reached 99.31 with a decrease of 0.30% in the West Bank during March 2015 compared to February 2015. It declined due to the decrease in the prices of raw materials by 1.06%, and rental of equipments by 0.03%, while Labor wages increased by 1.84% during March 2015 compared to the previous month.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 113.02 with an increase of 0.93% in the West Bank during March 2015 compared to February 2015.

It increased due to the increase in the prices of operating costs of equipment and maintenance by 3.76%, and raw materials by 1.67%, while rental of equipments decreased by 0.82%, and Labor wages by 0.20% during March 2015 compared to previous month.

Meanwhile, the overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 110.21 with an increase of 0.76% in the West Bank during the same period.

WNCI reached 111.80 with an increase of 1.44%, while Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 106.71 with a decrease of 0.79% during March 2015 compared to previous month.

As for the overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI), it reached 107.05 with an increase of 0.97% in the West Bank during March 2015 compared to February 2015.
