RAMALLAH, April 26, 2015 (WAFA)
– The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their Sunday issue on the
Israeli police killing of two Palestinians, in two separate incidents that took
place in Hebron and Jerusalem on Saturday.
The dailies said Israeli police
justified the killing by saying that the two Palestinians, indentified as
Mohammad Abu Ghannam and Mahmoud Abu Jhaisheh, attempted to stab officers of
the Israeli Border Police and army.
Al-Ayyam said confrontations
erupted in Jerusalem and Hebron on Saturday following the two deadly incidents.
Al-Quds said armed Israeli
settlers physically assaulted several Palestinians in the Old City of Hebron.
The dailies said the Presidency
decried the Israeli killing of Abu Ghannam and Abu Jhaisheh, and stressed that
“Israeli crimes” will not go unpunished.
In a different subject,
al-Hayat al-Jadida said President Mahmoud Abbas urged the donor countries to meet
their commitment towards the reconstruction of the war-weary Gaza Strip.
Al-Ayyam said Israeli fighter
jets bombed a set of locations in Syria, purportedly belonging to the Syrian
regime and the Hezbollah group.
Al-Quds and al-Hayat al-Jadida
said that three Israeli police officers in Jerusalem were injured on Saturday
after being run over in a potentially deliberate attack.
