RAMALLAH, September 23, 2026 (WAFA) — Liu Haixing, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, reaffirmed China’s unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, highlighting principles put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping to advance efforts toward resolving the Palestinian issue.
Liu made the remarks during a meeting with Arab ambassadors accredited to China, attended by Palestine’s Ambassador to China Jawad Awad, at the Chinese Garden Art Museum in Beijing.
During the meeting, Awad congratulated President Xi Jinping, the Chinese leadership, and the Chinese people on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, underscoring the deep friendship between Palestine and China, which culminated in the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries during President Mahmoud Abbas’s visit to China in 2023.
Awad praised China’s positions in support of the rights of the Palestinian people and its efforts to promote Palestinian national unity. He also welcomed President Xi’s announcement of a $100 million grant to support the Palestinian people and efforts toward relief, early recovery, and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
Awad briefed the meeting on developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, warning of Israeli settlement plans, particularly the E1 colonial project around Jerusalem, which he said threatens the territorial unity of Palestine and undermines the two-state solution.
He stressed that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the State of Palestine, reiterating rejection of annexation and displacement plans and affirming the Palestinian people’s commitment to realizing their independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Awad also highlighted efforts by the Palestinian leadership to renew national legitimacy and strengthen democratic life through local elections, convening the eighth general conference of the Fatah movement, and preparations for legislative elections and elections for the Palestinian National Council.
The Arab ambassadors, for their part, expressed appreciation for China’s positions in support of the Palestinian cause and its solidarity with the Palestinian people, commending its role in promoting security and stability in the region and expressing their desire to strengthen Arab-Chinese cooperation.
Awad reiterated the State of Palestine’s support for the one-China principle, stressing the importance of preserving the security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Arab countries, particularly the Gulf states. He also expressed hope for the convening of the second Arab-Chinese Summit and for continued efforts to deepen the friendship and strategic partnership between Palestine and China.
