BEIRUT, September 18, 2026 (WAFA) — Two Lebanese citizens were injured today when Israeli occupation artillery shelled the town of Shaqra in the Bint Jbeil district of southern Lebanon, while Israeli military vehicles advanced toward the outskirts of the border towns of Deir Mimas and Hadatha.
The Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported that the Israeli shelling of the Shaqra area injured two people, who were taken to a nearby hospital. It said one shell landed in Wadi Nahla on the outskirts of Shaqra.
In Deir Mimas, NNA reported that Israeli occupation forces raided the outskirts of the town, searched several homes and fired stun grenades.
Israeli occupation forces also renewed shelling of the towns of Mansouri and Majdal Zoun today, following intensified shelling overnight. The sound of the bombardment was heard in the city of Tyre and several southern towns and villages, while several shells struck Wadi al-Azziya.
Overnight, Israeli forces fired illumination flares over the areas of Hadatha and Aita al-Jabal in the Bint Jbeil district, amid continued military movements and shelling across parts of southern Lebanon.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health said in its latest figures, issued Thursday, that the death toll from Israeli attacks between March 2 and September 17 had reached 4,386, with 12,407 injured. The ministry said the overall toll since October 8, 2023, stood at 8,953 killed and 30,643 injured.
