KUALA LUMPUR, June 26, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian national Muay Thai team won three gold medals during its participation in the Men's Muay Thai World Championship and the inaugural School Muay Thai World Championship.
Palestinian athletes Ibrahim Jamous, Mousa Mustafa, and Vivian Alais claimed three gold medals in the inaugural School Muay Thai World Championship, while Amir Al-Amleh secured a bronze medal in the men's elite 63.5 kg category.
The tournaments were held in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, from June 16 to 26, with the participation of more than 80 countries.
The Palestinian delegation was headed by Palestinian Muay Thai Federation President Shaker Al-Shrouf, accompanied by Technical Director Ahmad Abu Dukhan and national team coach Fadi Mustafa. The squad included Fadi Mustafa, Mousa Mustafa, Ibrahim Jammous, Vivian Alais, Adel Khalil, Ahmad Abu Qalbeen, Amir Al-Amleh, and Ahmad Hilal.
Palestinian international referee Sabreen Allan also officiated at the championships as part of the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) refereeing team, marking the first participation of a Palestinian female referee at an IFMA world championship.
Palestine's Ambassador to Malaysia, Jihad Al-Qudra, congratulated the Palestinian youth and men's Muay Thai team during a reception in Kuala Lumpur, praising the athletes' achievement and saying it reflected the determination and ability of Palestinian youth to compete and succeed on the international stage.
