HEBRON, August 26, 2026 (WAFA) – Armed Israeli colonists on Wednesday chased Palestinian shepherds in Khirbet Khashm al-Karm of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, according to an activist.
Osama Makhamreh said that armed colonists chased the shepherds and attempted to steal their flock before the occupation forces raided the area and arrested a Palestinian inhabitant for confronting the assailants.
Meanwhile, colonists broke into an agricultural shed in the Shaab al-Batam of Masafer Yatta and stole all of its furniture, belongings and agricultural equipment.
In Wadi al-Rakhim, colonists conducted provocative tours around Palestinians’ dwellings, desecrated graves, and released their livestock into groves.
Makhamreh added that the gun-toting soldiers forced an inhabitant of the Huwwara area, east of Yatta, to remove a fence he had erected around his dwelling to prevent colonists from entering his yard with their livestock.
Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
