JERUSALEM, April 27, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestine Liberation Organization’s Jerusalem Affairs Department warned that ongoing Israeli military raids, detentions, and violent incursions in Al-Ram, Kafr Aqab, and Qalandia refugee camp reflect a dangerous field escalation.
In a statement, the department said the raids—ongoing since the previous night—form part of a systematic policy aimed at fragmenting Palestinian social fabric and imposing a coercive security reality around occupied Jerusalem.
It noted that the raids involved home invasions, destruction of property, forced entry, and intimidation of residents, including women and children, as well as the conversion of several homes into temporary military posts. These measures have caused widespread disruption to daily life in Qalandia camp and the towns of Al-Ram and Kafr Aqab.
The department added that the targeting of essential services, including the raid on an UNRWA clinic in Qalandia camp and the destruction of its entrance, marks a serious escalation affecting humanitarian infrastructure, alongside mass arrests of dozens of residents.
It further said that demolition notices issued against dozens of residential and commercial structures under the pretext of lacking permits are part of increasing pressure aimed at reducing the Palestinian presence in the area and imposing new realities on the ground, in violation of international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, which guarantees protection for civilians under occupation.
