BRUSSELS, January 29, 2026 (WAFA) – The European Union strongly rejected attacks carried out by Israeli colonists against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, stressing the need to hold those responsible accountable without exception.
The statement was made by the EU representative in Jerusalem, Alexandre Stutzmann, during a field visit to Al-Shabab village west of Ramallah, affiliated with the Sharek Youth Forum, attended by several EU ambassadors.
Stutzmann said the attacks by Israeli colonists are “unacceptable, and concrete measures must be taken to prevent their recurrence.”
Al-Shabab village has been subjected to a series of colonist raids and assaults, including theft of facilities, destruction of property, cutting of electrical wires, and the use of dogs and waste to drive activists away from the site.
Stutzmann noted that the European Union has previously taken measures against colonists involved in violence against Palestinians.
He added that attacks on the village, which serves youth programs, are entirely unacceptable to the EU and said the issue “will continue to be closely monitored until the attacks stop and measures are in place to prevent their recurrence,” emphasizing the importance of holding those responsible accountable.
