RAMALLAH, December 4, 2025 (WAFA) -Minister of Interior Ziad Hab Al-Reeh affirmed on Wednesday the full sovereignty of the State of Palestine over the Gaza Strip, considering it an integral part of the Palestinian political and national system.
He made his remarks during a meeting with a delegation from the Stabilisation Response Mechanism (SRM), which is conducting an exploratory mission to the State of Palestine to assess opportunities for stability in the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with the German Federal Foreign Office, the Norwegian Representative Office, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Minister Hab Al-Reeh stressed that any international effort to support stability must be in line with the State of Palestine’s mandate and unified vision regarding the future of the Strip.
He noted that the Palestinian government has devised clear plans at both the civilian and security levels for the rehabilitation of infrastructure, the restoration of basic services, and the enhancement of the presence of civil institutions, alongside professional security plans based on the rule of law, respect for citizens' rights, and guaranteeing community security.
He stressed that the Ministry of Interior is prepared to fully cooperate with international actors to support stability in such a way that enhances the capacity of Palestinian institutions to carry out their duties and responsibilities in the Gaza Strip as soon as the appropriate conditions are met.
During the meeting, the delegation reviewed the general objective of the exploratory mission based on the UNSC Resolution 2803 (2025), aimed at assessing the political, security, and institutional factors influencing the provision of favourable conditions for achieving sustainable peace, recovery, and promoting good governance.
The delegation explained its work methodology, which includes reviewing relevant data and studies, holding meetings with official and community-based bodies, identifying priorities and rapid actions, and applying clear standards related to legitimacy, security, resource mobilization, and local community readiness.
