On Day of Solidarity, Palestinian institutions urge global action to uphold rights and hold Israel accountable

RAMALLAH, November 29, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, and institutions concerned with prisoners’ affairs called today for ensuring the rights of the Palestinian people, holding Israel accountable for its crimes, and ending the international exception granted to Israeli violations.

In statements issued today to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, they stressed that international double standards encourage the Israeli government to persist in its crimes and pursue its expansionist colonial policies, with all the dangers they entail.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that solidarity lies in rejecting international inaction and colonialism. It stressed that the Palestinian people continue to endure one of the longest and harshest chapters of human and political suffering in modern history, amid the absence of international accountability for the crimes and violations committed by Israeli occupation forces for decades—particularly during the genocide in the Gaza Strip and the ongoing crimes in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

The Ministry emphasized that solidarity with the Palestinian people is not symbolic or seasonal, but a legal, humanitarian, and moral duty, and an essential step toward achieving a just and lasting peace that guarantees freedom, dignity, and justice for Palestinians.

The Ministry reminded that states—especially the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions—bear clear legal obligations toward the Palestinian people, urging them to fulfill these obligations, pressure to end Israel’s unlawful occupation of Palestinian territory, provide international protection, and hold those responsible for crimes against Palestinians accountable.

Also on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, prisoners' institutions addressed a message to the free peoples of the world, urging them to end the exception granted to Israel, particularly by its main supporter, the United States.

They explained that the machinery of Israeli colonialism has worked for decades to eliminate the Palestinian presence and has escalated this effort to unprecedented levels since the beginning of the genocidal war—the most violent period in Palestinian history.

The institutions noted that Israel pursued policies of erasure and ethnic cleansing, with one of the most prominent aspects of this ongoing war being the continuous acts of extermination inside Israeli prisons against Palestinian and Arab detainees, who have been subjected to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

They reaffirmed that the atrocities committed by Israel during the war are an extension of a long, unbroken chain of catastrophes inflicted on the Palestinian people.

The institutions added that for decades, the international community has failed to ensure justice, freedom, and rights for Palestinians and has also failed to stop the killing of children, women, the elderly, and even unborn babies.
