Israeli forces open gunfire at car, injure three in northern West Bank village

JENIN, March 25, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Tuesday evening opened gunfire at a Palestinian-registered car and injured three Palestinians in Deir Ghazaleh village, northeast of the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

The PRCS said that its crews transferred two villagers, one who sustained a gunshot injury in the thigh and another who sustained a gunshot injury in the lower back, to a hospital, while noting that another was injured after being beaten up by the occupation soldiers.

Local sources said that Israeli special forces sneaked their way into the village, shot at a young man while the latter was in a car, and prevented medics from approaching the scene.

There was no immediate information on the condition of the young man nor on his identity.

This came as further military reinforcements were deployed in the village.

The sources confirmed that the soldiers rounded up a man along with his wife and son after besieging their house in the village.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
